Cricket South Africa has taken another step forward in strengthening its high-performance environment, announcing a new partnership with Algoa Holdings, the exclusive local distributor of Science in Sport (SiS).
The collaboration is designed to support South African cricket from the ground up, ensuring that players across the entire pathway, from Under-19 level through to the Proteas, have access to consistent, trusted and scientifically backed sports nutrition.
In a modern game where marginal gains often define outcomes, nutrition, recovery and preparation have become just as critical as skill execution. This partnership places CSA alongside more than 150 elite sporting organisations globally who rely on SiS, including GB Athletics, Saracens Rugby Club and Tottenham Hotspur.
Director of National Teams and High Performance, Enoch Nkwe, emphasised the importance of aligning with globally respected partners as CSA continues to raise its standards.
He highlighted that athlete safety, scientific credibility and world-class best practice sit at the core of this decision, with SiS’s full Informed Sport certification providing confidence in the supplements used by players at every level.
From a supply perspective, Keith Buhr reinforced the brand’s global standing, noting that SiS is trusted by world champions across multiple disciplines. Locally, the focus is clear: to fuel performance, optimise recovery and support success throughout South Africa’s cricket structures.
More than just a sponsorship, this move reflects a broader shift in how elite sport is approached. It is about building smarter systems, supporting athletes holistically and ensuring that every player stepping into a CSA environment is equipped to perform at their best.
For South African cricket, it is another sign of intent.
